Bouchard on 2008 Vintage

(posted 5/5/2010)

Bouchard Pere et Fils is one of the most storied and historic wineries in all of Burgundy. Luc Bouchard presents his perspective on the 2008 vintage in Burgundy both for the Cote de Nuits in the north and Cote de Beaune in the south.

Featured Wines

Bouchard Beaune Clos de la Mousse 2008
Characteristics: In another life I may have been a mouse; I love the aroma of fromage. Cheese lovers will say that such a broad statement is not possible and I agree but nearly all cheeses do smell good to me. White burgundy can sometimes have a vaguely cheese-like aroma. This Beaune Clos de la Mousse is one of those. While there are lots of fruit and some citrus fragrances a wonderful ethereal cheese wrapped in grape leaves smell. In the mouth there is an enervating edginess, minerals, lemon zest and kiwi. - Wine reviewed by LAC. August, 2010.
