Mongeard-Mugneret Echezeaux Grand Cru 2014
Characteristics: Echezeaux wines are a clear garnet or ruby red, the exact hue often varying considerably. When young these wines have vanilla-scented, smoky, woody aromas or a hint of torrefaction, combined with suggestions of red fruits and spices. After a few years the nose becomes more vegetable or animal, with the scent of mushrooms, truffles or woodland undergrowth. The great complexity of the bouquet makes this a wine which is both rich and feminine; it is silky, fat and mellow, with fine, delicate and fairly supple tannins. In the mouth the attack is spirited, the balance pleasant and there is a succulent fullness with aromas of red fruits.

Mont Olivet Chateauneuf-du-Pape 6/1500 2016
Characteristics: Garrigue and ripe raspberries meld licorice, sage, rosemary and lavender! Fragrant with roses all over the palate and long onto the finish this is exemplary Chateauneuf-du-Pape in that it is thoroughly packed with engaging red and black fruit but really expressive of the fragrant garrigue one loves to find and thrilled when found at this intensity. If you love the heady scent of woodlands, eat game, or simply like to sip wines of soul and inimitable character, this needs ticking off your list of sought after joys -you will have a friend for life.

Mont Olivet Chateauneuf-du-Pape Cuvee Papet 2016
Characteristics: Chateauneuf du Pape par excellence! Though riding high in its stirrups in its flushed youth, the 2010 La Cuvee du Papet, dense earthy aromas of wild mushrooms in tension with more elegant and high floral and yet beneath it all is a meaty, sanguine raw venison, spiced citrus rind. Garrigue, minty eucalyptus, soft black cherries and heavily ripened, red fleshed pluots make for a compelling Chateuneuf-du-Pape.
Wine review by Nicholas Livingston, February 2013

First produced in 1989, the flagship jewel of the estate is the Chateauneuf-du-Pape made only in the exceptional vintages from our oldest vines of Grenache (the oldest vines were planted in 1901) with a compliment of Mourvèdre and/or Syrah in varying proportions. All the varietals are fermented together and give rise to a wine both concentrated and elegant, with a great finish.

Paetra Gewurztraminer Van Duzer Corridor 2018
Characteristics: Concentrated Chehalem Mountain Riesling from the single vineyard "Nicholas" comprised of silt on basalt that winemaker Bill Hooper credits for its thick skins and potency. Fragrant and exotic with a glorious spice I've never had this side of the Vosges. Another cracking wine from this upcoming winegrower handcrafting Riesling in this superlative category in which the fruit is in the best condition and every step of the craft is minimal but the most mindful. I am a thorough fan.
Wine review by Nicholas Livingston, September 3rd, 2015

"This dry Single Vineyard Nicholas Riesling was produced by hand-sorting in the vineyard only the ripest and healthiest bunches. The silt-over-basalt soils bring thick skins and an enormous concentration of tropical fruit flavors and aromas. The wine fermented at cool temperatures for over eight months without the addition of cultured yeast in neutral oak barrels. It will reward many years of cellaring. Only 45 cases produced."

Roserock Pinot Noir 6/750 2015
Characteristics: Roserock Pinot Noir Eola-Amity Hills
From their LIVE-certified sustainable estate Roserock Pinot Noir is a cuvée selection from the estate’s 35 blocks, which are handpicked, sorted and individually fermented. While Pinot Noirs from the Eola-Amity Hills are typically known for their structure and power, Véronique Drouhin emphasizes Roserock’s elegant and refined qualities, making for a delicious and ageworthy cuvée. “The Pinot Noir was aged for 11 months in approximately 20% French Oak. There wasn’t any whole cluster used during fermentation, and we were very excited to ferment each block separately to better understand the personality of each parcel. Roserock Pinot Noir has a lovely, deep red color. The nose is floral, spicy and beautiful, with an intense, savory, character. On the palate, there are notes of dark berry preserves, a touch of caramel, black cherry, dried flowers, and tilled earth. There is clear structure and balance, with good mouth weight and a long finish. I expect that we will be enjoying this wine for 7-10 years, or more, but it offers a lot now.” We couldn’t agree more.
